The 2022 USA Masters Ice Hockey team will be competing in the 21st Maccabiah Games in July 2022. The games will be hosted in Jerusalem this year. The selection committee comprised of Head Coach Joshua Petersohn alongside Assistant Coaches Michael Orzoff and Stu Siegel, has recruited a talented team throughout a rigorous tryout process. The team includes some of the best Jewish Ice Hockey players age 40+ from across the United States. Team USA is preparing to play traditionally intense international competition.
Maccabi USA has an extensive history of enriching Jewish lives through athletic, cultural, and educational programs. The organization is the official sponsor of the United States Team to the World Maccabiah Games in Israel and other Maccabi competitions around the world. Maccabi USA supports Jewish Athletic endeavors enhanced by cultural and educational opportunities at home, in Israel, and throughout the Diaspora.
The Maccabiah is the World’s most prominent Jewish athletic competition with 10,000 athletes from 80 countries. Elite athletes will compete in over 3,000 tournaments in 47 sports. The 21st Maccabiah games will be hosted in Jerusalem, Haifa, and Netanya on July 12-26th, 2022. In the tradition and values of Maccabi, the games emphasize the centrality of the State of Israel in the life of the Jewish people. The Maccabiah takes place every four (4) years in Israel - “the Jewish Olympics,” as they are often called, are Maccabi World Union’s largest and most famous enterprise.
