Bio: Hockey was the first love of my life. I’ve skated multiple times a week, every week, for the past 37 years. It has given me the greatest joy, taught me life lessons, shown me the importance of teamwork, and has given me something to look forward to for the majority of my life. I grew up playing travel and AAA hockey. That led to a successful high school career and the opportunity to play at Indiana University. While my college playing days were over 20 years ago, those memories seem like just yesterday.
Since my college days, I’ve continued playing the game I love through intramural leagues, pick-up games, on the pond, and most recently, on a 20 x 40 rink in my backyard with my kids. It’s definitely been fulfilling, but when I found out about an opportunity to represent my country for the Maccabiah games, it was something I couldn’t pass up. It’s every kids’ dream to represent their country playing the sport they grew up on. Hockey has gifted me with the opportunity to see and experience the world from all around the United States and Canada, to traveling overseas. But this experience with Maccabiah, playing alongside 20 guys of whom I share the same faith, will be the most memorable experience of my life.
